A "weapon sweep" was carried out in a busy Oldham park today.
Greater Manchester Police officers visited Alexandra Park, in Glodwick - an area in the borough that was cordoned off last month after a gun was discharged.
The "weapon sweep" was undertaken by the Alexandra neighbourhood policing team, as part of Operation Spectre - a nationwide weeklong operation that aims to reduce knife crime and raise awareness of the dangers of carrying a knife.
A spokesperson for the force said: "As part of Operation Sceptre week of action the Alexandra neighbourhood policing team have today conducted a weapon sweep in Alexandra park, Oldham."
