Radcliffe Athletics `Club had a fantastic five finishers at this year’s London Marathon.

First over the line for Radcliffe was Ian Swan, running his first road marathon in a cracking time of 3hrs 29mins 15secs. Radcliffe’s first female finisher was Mia Derbyshire, running London within seven days of her Manchester Marathon, and in a similar time, too, coming in at 3:50:29. Also running in the capital for Radcliffe were Stephen Crowe (5:07:42), Elaine Bailey (5:34:06), and Bev Quinton (6:37:09).

Radcliffe AC’s juniors and seniors had a day to remember at the seaside this weekend at the Blackpool Festival of Running, which includes a marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k, and 2k.

Completing the marathon distance was Amy Brough-Aikin, coasting in at 4:28:57, while Ethan Malone and Charlotte Holden enjoyed the half-marathon in 2:10:28 and 2:20:15, respectively.

First finisher for Radcliffe in the 10k was Andrew O’Donnell in a fantastic time of 41:34, followed down the Fylde coast by Dominic Parry (48:25), Bren Tighe (54:28) and Sara Parry (78:51).

Lucie Tighe was the first finisher for Radcliffe in the 5k with a time of 28:01, followed by Peter Warr, in 29:52, and Rachel O’Donnell, in 44:25.

Radcliffe juniors were also out in force at the seashore, with Oliver finishing the 5k in 31:37, and a super squad of five junior athletes took on the 2k stretch of promenade led by Isaac, coming in at a speedy 10:30, followed closely by Grace (11:11), Skyler (11:16), Benji (11:25), and Aoife (12:02).

Elsewhere, Kath Biddle continues her headlining half-marathon tour of the UK, completing the scenic and undulating Shakespeare Half Marathon in 2:08:52.
