KATY MAE SMITH The family of the much loved Katy Smith would like to express their deep and sincere thanks to all relatives, friends, colleagues and neighbours for the kindness, sympathy, love and support shown to them during the recent tragic period of Katy’s bereavement. We are also grateful for the exceptional number of touching letters of condolence, cards and beautiful floral tributes, together with the donations received for Maundy Relief and The Ticker Club at Wythenshawe Hospital, in memory of Katy. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to the Consultants, Doctors and Nurses at Blackpool Victoria Hospital Intensive Care Unit and particularly the ECMO team at University Hospital of South Manchester (Wythenshawe) who cared for Katy in her final days. The family would also like to thank everyone who attended the wonderful and memorable service at Bury Parish Church and the committal at East Lancashire Crematorium in Radcliffe. We were astonished, but not really surprised, by the very large attendance given how Katy touched the lives of so many people. Special thanks to Rev John Findon for conducting the funeral service, Father Keith Henshall and Father Paul Smith for assisting, and to Linda and all her colleagues at Co-op Funeralcare for their sensitive and professional support throughout the funeral and committal procedures. Finally, many thanks to all those who joined us in celebrating Katy’s life at Woodbank Cricket Club after the committal. It was a wonderful event in which friends were able to join us to listen and dance to her favourite music, and reflect on her life in pictures, together with sharing the many happy and often humorous memories we have of Katy.
