A BOLTON company has emerged as “hot property” in its field of expertise.

Originally established in 2004, Solutions Contractors Ltd has had the foresight and commitment towards locating derelict buildings and converting these into affordable housing.

Future aims include consolidating its presence in Bolton and expanding to other areas in the North West.

Soon after its launch, the Dobson Road-based company targeted the commercial sector and, thanks to its sterling work ethic, won several national maintenance contracts.

A change in the market subsequently saw Solutions Contractors alter its portfolio as it identified a need and requirement for transforming rundown and derelict buildings into residential accommodation.

This highlighted by the renovation work undertaken on the former Hare & Hounds pub on Bury Road.

Through Bolton at Home, the site now provides affordable housing for 14 residents.

The business also strives to work with local tradesmen to create job opportunities in the Bolton area. Growth is at the centre of the company’s ambitious plans for the future.

Solutions Contractors hope that they can benefit from the Government’s support for refurbishment projects to convert derelict buildings back into use.

Additionally, the Bolton firm contracts locally trained experts to carry out works, ensuring these are fulfilled safely and to a high standard.

Younger workers are encouraged to train under their more experienced counterparts so that skills can be passed on in a practical environment.

Director Mr Prag Luhar said: “By increasing the size of projects, we are becoming better known within the area and creating work which, in turn, helps the local economy.”
