Bury's second team put up a spirited performance against a Chorlton side with no shortage of strong players.
But a sprinkling of small errors meant that all the good work was unavailing. Only Jim Litherland and Sam Hedge had winning chances, but Sam was unable to maintain his small advantage, and it was left to Jim at the end of the evening to produce a solitary Bury score, outplaying his opponent in a difficult Rook endgame, which is still being analysed by club members. With one match remaining the team are still looking for that elusive first victory. Vengeance will be sought when Bury's first team meet Chorlton 3rd next week!
