Tuesday 28th February Prestwich Co op Camera Club Members gathered to hear Judge Adrian Lines ARPS DPAGB BPE4 of Wigan Photographic Society comment on the Annual Exhibition Digital Images.

Out of the ninety four submissions, seven images were awarded Commended, nine awarded Highly Commended and seven Very Highly Commended.

The section winners were: Monochrome – Derek Warren with an atmospheric rendering of 'Hereford Cathedral' which had a great range of tones.

Pictorial – Michael Oates' 'Beach Memories' with wooden groynes providing the perfect lead in to the serene, beautifully coloured scene.

Record – Michael also won this section with a vibrant mono renditioning of the 'Theology Inspiring Science and Art' sculpture at the John Rylands Library Portrait – Eileen Craig with a contextual, character capturing, image of 'Sardine Fisherman'.

Natural History – Danny Powell's 'Elephant Siblings' captured two young elephants in great warm light.

Illustrative and Photo Journalism – 'Jenson Button speeding down Deansgate', Anthony Shackman had got down low to get a great shot complete with spray giving a great sense of movement.

Creative – Derek Warren's 'Dreamtime' gave him a second section winner plus the accolade of Overall Winner. This expertly created image depicted a dramatic sky over an open book with grass pages on which sat a deckchair and phonograph basking in the warm light of a period lamp standard.

Tuesday 13th March 2012 will be the Annual Exhibition Prints will be judged.
