TOP name comedians and up-and-coming talent will get audiences chuckling at a string of stand-up gigs.

Complete Comedy is back at Leigh Cricket Club, Beech Walk, following the venue's refurbishment.

Over the coming months, it will play host to television and international comedians, the best from the UK circuit and support acts of talented up-and-coming comics.

The next night will take place on Saturday, April 11, with award-winning funnyman Tom Binns.

Billed as one man, three comedians, he will appear as inept hospital radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury and Ian D Montfort, a psychic from Sunderland, as well as himself.

His jokes have seen him detained at airports and got him fired from more than 23 radio and TV shows.

Named by comedy website Chortle as one of the Top 50 Most Memorable Gigs of the Decade, he was also named the Best International Act at the New Zealand Comedy Festival in 2013 and is a Double Sony Gold Winner.

Next month's comedy night will be compered by Kenny Mills, from Leigh.

Organiser Craig Bennett said: "Don't miss your chance to see the next big thing.

"Last time Tom performed for Complete Comedy, people thanked me at the end for having him on.

"I can guarantee you will laugh like never before."

On Friday, May 22, Phoenix Nights star Archie Kelly will be on the line-up — fresh from the run of live charity dates at the Manchester Arena with Peter Kay, Paddy McGuinness, Dave Spikey and the rest of the original cast of the Channel 4 comedy.

As an actor, Archie is best known for his comic portrayal of Kenny "Dalglish" Senior in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights and he has also appeared in a number of popular TV shows including Jimmy McGovern's The Street.

But it is on the stand-up stage where Archie excels with his cheeky, inoffensive and interactive comedy style.

The night will run every month and one has also been organised to take place on Saturday, June 20.
