A COFFEE shop became ‘Ridiculously Rich’ overnight after cake maker Alana Spencer won The Apprentice.

The Coffee Shop at Heaton has been selling cakes by the business entrepreneur since it opened in September, 2015.

Barista Mark Bradley first met Sir Alan Sugar’s new business partner while at a food festival, at Stonyhurst College, Clitheroe, in 2015.

The 54-year-old said: “She was selling her cakes there and I tried them and they were just fantastic. I took her details and when I came to open the shop in September I contacted her and asked could we stock some of them.

“And we have been selling them ever since.”

The Coffee Shop at Heaton, in New Hall Lane, Bolton, sells Miss Spencer’s brownies, salted caramel, peanut butter fudge, crème brulee brownies and sticky toffee flapjacks under Alana’s former business brand, Narnas.

But now the brand, with the £250,000 backing of Sir Alan Sugar, has been renamed ‘Ridiculously Rich’ and is on everyone’s lips.

Mr Bradley, who also has a mobile business, The Coffee Carriage Limited, said: “I can’t quite work out if it is a really good thing or not.

“I quite liked in some way that I was the only person in the North West of England who sold her cakes, but that will surely change now.

“There hasn’t been a noticeable uptake in sales since her win, but they are definitely of interest to people when I tell them.

“Her cakes have always been popular here though, especially her crème brulee brownies!”

The Apprentice star beat 17 other power hungry contestants to the top spot in this year’s series, pipping Courtney Wood to the post in the final.
