WANT to fill your make-up bag, get perfectly sculpted eyebrows or fancy a new hairdo?

Look no further than Bolton’s revamped market which has a range of beauty and cosmetics stalls, selling goods at a fraction of the high street cost.

Bolton Market reopened last month, following a £4.5 million refurbishment including its lifestyle hall, formerly known as the indoor miscellaneous market.

Mandy and Ian Wharmby, from Beauty Bargains, have been on the market for 19 years and were delighted to return with a bigger stall.

They buy from wholesalers and stock a range of popular products, including Max Factor Lipfinity for £5.50, which would cost £10.99 in shops, and Revlon Beyond Natural foundation, which matches an individual’s skintone, for £2.50.

Mandy said: “We sell all branded make-up, Max Factor, Rimmel, Maybelline.

“We get girls coming down that used to come with their mums in prams.”

They are able to sell their products — including make up, brushes, toiletries and false nails — cheaper as they do not have to pay staff and have fewer overheads.

The stall is also one which sells bottles of perfume and aftershave which are copies of more expensive brands, such as Paco Rabanne Lady Million and Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, for £3.50.

Mandy said: “They are very popular, they do stay on.”

Duty Free, which used to be in the old Market Hall before its controversial 2007 revamp, has returned to Bolton after a time in Bury.

Stall worker Sue Brownrigg, who previously worked at Bodycare in Bury for five years, said: “It’s going really well.

“We do really good brands, Elizabeth Arden, Max Factor, L'Oréal. We do sell a lot of the high end products as well as the cheaper ones.

Sue said the owner stocks the stall from his wholesalers in Cheetham Hill.

She said: “It’s cheaper.

“Obviously, maybe, we don’t stock the latest products but they are still up-to-date products.

“If I haven’t got something and people are asking, I will try and get it.”

A brand new addition is eye-catching stall Ooh That’s Lovely, which sells a range of treats and handmade trinkets, including jewellery, scarves, soaps, handbags and a range of relaxing bath salts for £1.99, such as ones to relieve stress and help you sleep.

Stallholder Zee Cooper, who got involved in arts and crafts while working at Bolton domestic violence charity Paws for Kids, said: “We do all the bath products, they’re popular.

“The scarves are quite a good consistent seller.”

Over at Huri’s lash and brow bar, a former Selfridges beautician carries out eyebrow threading, as well as tinting and eyelash extensions to make sure your peepers are framed to perfection.

And Charlene Wallace, from Diamond Dazzle, has a range of hair accessories, extensions and wigs, and also offers a French plaiting and braiding service.
