The former models have been friends for many years and Clare, who runs a hairdressers in Monton, has signed a deal to sell the product — an anti-wrinkle micro-cream that works quickly to temporarily diminish the visible signs of ageing.

London-based Sara attended the event, which also raised money for charity Moodswings, with pooch Beano while on a flying visit North to visit family and friends.

Speaking of her own beauty regime, she said: "I use loads of different products.

"I like Smashbox, I use loads of different things.

"I'm hoping to steal some of this stuff tonight and go home with some."

Bury actor Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully in ITV soap Coronation Street, also attended the event at Elixir Tonics & Treats, Deansgate, where Radio 2 DJ Sara did a stint on the decks.

Demonstrations were given to showcase the cream which works to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness under the eyes, as well as the appearance of pores, while on the skin.

Guests on the night were given vials of the product to take away which contain the ingredient argireline — a peptide that works like botox but without the needles.

Other products in the American company's range which claims to deliver longer-term results include Luminesce daily moisturizing complex, an all-day facial cream, and Luminesce advanced night repair, containing vitamins and antioxidants said to protect cell membranes from free radical damage.
