A GLOBE-trotting series of music workshops and events will arrive in the North West next month.

The Red Bull Music Academy will bring its UK tour to a close in Manchester, from Thursday, April 16, to Sunday, April 19.

From an in conversation event with rapper Skepta to a special warehouse gig featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff, PRhyme, Todd Terry, Krystal Klear and Josey Rebelle, the programme promises a sweeping showcase of emerging and established icons.

Other highlights include Industrial City Sounds taking over clubbing institution Sankeys for a night of techno excellence, spectral beatsmiths Mount Kimbie headlining an intimate Soup Kitchen show and bass boss Zed Bias taking to the stage with a cohort of local heroes.

The Red Bull Music Academy has been pairing music legends and emerging beatsmiths since 1998 in cities such as Berlin, Cape Town, Melbourne, Barcelona, São Paulo, London, New York City and Tokyo.

A hedonistic hybrid that takes the academy's signature style and mixes it with the breadth of a city festival, the UK Tour takes over a different place each week for a unique run of events.

In Manchester there will also be showcases at venues including The Ritz in Whitworth Street West, Antwerp Mansion in Wilmslow Road and NQ 2022, Dale Street.
