MUSIC fans have plenty to put in their 2017 diaries with details of a host of events locally having been announced.

Bolton’s biggest free rock festival will return for its third year in May. The event, which attracts around 10,000 people to Queens Park, hits the stage for two days of music during the spring Bank Holiday on May 27 and 28.

The family-friendly event includes a host of tribute performances appearing across two stages this year.

It is organised by the same people behind Prestwich-based festival, Festwich, which will be welcoming acts on July 29 and 30 at St Mary’s Park.

More than 40 live tribute acts are expected to appear across three stages.

Meanwhile bands can apply to perform at the B Charity Music Festival on Easter Sunday, April 16. Stages at the Alma Inn, Blind Tiger Bolton, comedy stage at BarMetro.Rocks, with more venues to be announced.
