BAND Sound of Thieves are launching their first EP tomorrow (June 1).

Made up of vocalist Phoebe Pope and Jan Bures on bass, the musical pair will perform tracks from In My Kingdom at The Old Pint Pot at 7.30pm.

The band started in Cyprus, with Phoebe, from Bromley Cross, moving into Jan's home in 2014, before moving back to Bolton in 2016 to make it in the UK.

Now they have released their music on the back of successful gigs across the country.

Phoebe said: "I moved back to my hometown of Bolton to carry on performing with the band I formed in Cyprus. Since then we have performed around the country and had some great experiences along the way. This is the first time we will be releasing our music."

The two have developed a unique sound which they both find hard to describe but is perhaps best summed up as experimental electro-funk.

The cinematic sound is created with a mix of sampling, live-looping and live instruments, creating unusual covers and unique songs.

The two met while both living and studying in Bolton, did not initially decided to team up their musical skills until three years into their relationship.

Sound Of Thieves performed over 100 concerts, appeared at the biggest musical festivals around the island like Farma Projekt and Fengaros Music Festival.

Back home they have appeared on the Samsara Street Sessions, and at the Salford Music Festival.

The duo has also been invited to perform at the Aufgetischt Buskers Festival in Switzerland, Buskers Braunschweig Festival in Germany and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
