JUST a few days into the third annual Radcliffe festival of the arts, the event has been labelled a huge success.

Ahead of tonight’s brass band show, audiences had already flocked to a performance of comedy My Three Angels and an operatic version of Cinderella, as well as a lecture on art.

Cllr J Franks, chairman of the organising committee, said: “Things are going well and the indications are that once again the festival will be an unqualified success.”

With another 10 events still to be held before the festival, which has been given a far greater budget this year, comes to a close, a record number of visitors are expected.
