THIS summer, Market Place Shopping Centre is your one-stop shop for everything from cutting-edge fashion and sumptuous snacks to stupendous children’s activities.

From August 1, Market Place will launch its Summer Camp. Open every Thursday throughout the month, there will be free activities for kids to enjoy in the special Summer Camp unit located on the ground floor.

Held between 11am and 3pm, the Summer Camp sessions are a great way to keep the kids occupied.

Their scientific minds will run wild with hand-on activities like the Slime Time Reactions (August 1) or Vortex Adventures (August 29) — perfect for mini-Einsteins and the eagerly anticipated Cookie Monster Creations workshops (August 8) is the ideal event for budding chefs and a great warm up for the shopping centre’s free cookery demonstrations as part of the Food and Drink festival at the end of the month.

The Summer Camp has a different theme each week, so the boredom will be kept at bay!

Lush, on the upper ground floor at the shopping centre, is also lending a hand to parents who wish to keep their little ones occupied during the school holidays with its Bath Bomb-making workshops.

Each Sunday from 2.30pm, and each Tuesday from 11am (until the end of August), the friendly Lush staff will be getting messy and frothy helping kids create their own bath bomb masterpieces. (Cost of £5 per child applies).

Plus, the Water Walkerz are back this summer. From this weekend and for the next five weeks, youngsters can climb inside the large bubble balls and have fun exploring the water filled pool, right in the middle of the Shopping Centre (costs apply).

And finally, after you’ve managed to keep the children happy and occupied, then it’s your turn for some retail therapy — browse the fantastic fashion from the wide range of stores including Debenhams, Zara and River Island, bank and Next for some great summer inspiration and amazing bargains!

Then why not kick back and relax in one of the many cafes and keep cool in the spacious air-conditioned shopping centre?

So this summer the whole family can shop, dine and be entertained under one roof — Market Place has all boxes ticked for a summer of fun.
