Hot off the heels of a dazzling headline slot at the Proms in Colwyn Bay, world famous mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins will be back for more next year.

Venue Cymru has snagged Britain’s best-selling classical artist of the last 25 years for one of her two stops in the homeland as part of her 2019 tour An Evening with Katherine Jenkins in May.

Katherine will be showcasing her upcoming album ‘Guiding Light’ - due to be released on Friday, November 30 – which represents the culmination of a deeply emotional journey which began when her beloved father, Selwyn, died and found a new path when she became a mother.

Katherine said: “I have a life now I don’t think I ever expected to have. I am very happy, very blessed and I feel incredibly grateful. I feel whole new layers of emotion which have really taken me by surprise and made me feel like I have found myself, found my true voice.

“My voice has changed. This album is the most intimate album I have ever made. It’s a mindful collections of songs. I’m not trying to prove anything, I’m not trying to show how many notes I can hit, I just want to take people to a place of emotion and reflection – to touch hearts and souls.”

To reflect this change, the 15 track album includes some surprising new takes for Katherine, including a cover of Stormzy’s Blinded by Your Grace and Never Enough from The Greatest Showman - showstopping success at this year’s Proms in the Park – sitting alongside personal favourite such as Morning Has Broken as well as original material, including ‘Xander’s Song, written for her son born earlier this year.

As one of the UK’s greatest musical exports, multi-award winning Katherine has performed with the likes of Andrea Bocelli, José Carreras, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Bryn Terfel, Rolando Villazon, and Il Divo as well as for the Pope, for presidents and is a favourite of the Royal Family.

Katherine Jenkins will be at Venue Cymru on Friday, May 10 at 7pm.

Tickets are available now and start at £31, with Gold VIP tickets at £86.50 including a tour gift chosen by Katherine and more as well as Diamond VIP tickets at £166.50 adding a chance to meet and have a photo with the singer.
