FINDING Nemo is a favourite in my house and we are all looking forward to the sequel — Finding Dory.

So when we heard about Sea Life's special adventure, my two couldn't wait.

Visitors follow a trail inspired by one of Finding Dory’s new characters, Hank, a cantankerous octopus.

Disney’s new movie tells the story of regal blue tang fish Dory’s quest to find her own family, with the help of Nemo and Marlin and new characters like Hank that she meets at a Californian marine rehabilitation centre and aquarium.

My two had a great time following the trail, gathering the clues, and getting up close to the wide variety of marine life.

One of their favourites is what they call the Dory Tank, where a tunnel lets them get among the colourful clownfish (Nemo in the original), and now Dory.

They also loved the Octopus Hideout, where visitors can spot the common octopus and the jet-propelled, gas-fuelled prehistoric nautilus, cuttlefish and the tiny Atlantic long-arm octopus.

No visit to Sea Life would be complete without saying hello to Ernie, the giant sea turtle, as well as enjoying the rays and sharks.

Having discovered more about Dory and coming away having learned something new and interesting about life beneath the sea, we headed next door to LegoLand Discovery Centre.

My two love putting their skills to the test at the Ninjago Laser Training Camp and the Kingdom Quest Laser Ride was another highlight, especially as they are now old enough to sit on their own, leaving dad in the back with two blasters to fight off the ghouls!

They then turned to pedal power to enjoy Merlin’s Apprentice Ride and enjoyed the soft play area and the Forest Pursuit, among many other activities which gave them a great day out.

Now we need to plan a special trip to the cinema . . .
