I AM indebted to Cllr Rishi Shori for his information on the Settlement Funding Assessment.
It is a pity that Local Government Finances are so complex that it is difficult for an ordinary citizen to understand them.
He still comments that Bury is paid below the national average, thereby losing £10 million a year. Someone has to be below the average, and it is of no use for Bury Council to keep complaining about it. If the last Labour Government did not see fit to increase Bury’s funding, then this must be the correct interpretation of the criteria.
