FIRSTLY, we lost our town hall, then a promised high school failed to materialise.

Now the baths / leisure centre is a joke.

We have cleared the site, paid for by our council, so that saves the builders having to pay for it and were promised a state-of-art leisure complex, but surprise, surprise we now don’t have the funds to fulfil this promise.

Now the civic hall is another story. When plans were discussed, it was said only 11 objected who lived in the immediate vicinity. What drivel from whoever said that. A civic hall is for all the people in Radcliffe.

On the night when the final decision was made, the very next morning at 8am the bulldozers were cutting down trees. Did they already know the decision?

Now it is the turn of the libraries. Where has all the money gone?

All the council keeps harping on about is that Radcliffe now has a new bus station (which was a necessity) and how much money was spent on the “new” market hall which rumour has it, has now been acquired by a private company. So where does all the other money that the residents of Radcliffe pay, go to?

I don’t care who you vote for, but all these decisions have been made by a Labour-controlled council.

We do not have any public services left, but we do have pristine yellow lines so we can be fined for parking but the white advisory lines are worn away.

I suggest Bury Council may want to look at the Festival Gardens. They would also be a prime location for housing!

It seems houses are being built everywhere and Radcliffe is fast becoming just one very large housing estate.

What is Bury Council doing with our money?

Now someone is going to say it’s the Government’s fault due to cuts, but at the end of the day, Bury Council makes the decisions.
