IN reply to An open letter to David Nuttall, by Dr Barry Worthington (Opinion, February 9).
I think "67 years of age" Dr Barry Worthington might be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
This is a true but bizarre condition that causes hostages to develop a psychological alliance with their captors as a survival strategy during captivity.
When hostages suffering from this syndrome are eventually offered freedom, they choose to stay.
They convince themselves that remaining in captivity is the "safer" option.
The people have spoken regarding Brexit and the so called "Remoaners", like Dr Barry Worthington, need to get over it and move on.
So, Brexit has got Dr Worthington all vexed?
I do have to wonder how he feels about the immediate state of the NHS, the cuts to social services and the closure of the borough's walk-in centres? Maybe some of those intellectual words he likes to use would be better deployed regarding the mounting public concern over the increasing lack of local health care provision?
It's a real pity we can't have a referendum on that.
