I READ the article that we have belatedly found out about Bury Council's chief executive and two senior officers being suspended over the school governorship role of a former councillor accused of viewing child pornography.

Admittedly this sounds bad but nobody seems to have noticed at the time nearly two years ago when something could actually have been done.

The truth is the risk to children was minimal since school governors generally seldom ever visit the school and do not normally have unaccompanied access during school hours.

They therefore probably pose less risk than delivery drivers delivering supplies.
