JUST weeks after the worst scandal to hit Bury Council in years, it now finds itself getting criticism from Her Majesty's coroner, who questions process and the following of procedure in regards to highways management and maintenance.
There are clearly things badly wrong across all levels of the council, whether it be safeguarding or highways.
With some councillors still under investigation and now criticism from such a high-profile source, things clearly aren't improving fast enough.
It is shameful seeing so much money wasted at a time when it is closing libraries and, even worse, that in the latest tragic event, a life was lost.
It is about time parties worked together to fix things in Bury.
Council meetings shown online simply highlight the cross-party squabbles and all too often represent playground politics which is doing nothing to help the people of Bury.
We have surely reached our lowest point and things must change quickly.
The reality is it probably won't under the Labour regime.
