SO, Bury Council has seen fit to take almost a page once again in your publication to announce a further 135 roads are soon to be covered by a 20mph speed limit!

What planet do Cllr Rishi Shori and his friends live on?

Now I support a 20mph limit in residential streets if, and it's a big if, the speed limit can be enforced.

Sadly, this is not the case and our cash-pressed council is simply pouring thousands on signs, road markings and sleeping policeman for nothing when we really need effective road repairs.

I have lived in a 20mph zone for more than four years now and it is a total waste of time.

I have never seen any speed checking staff around and doubt if I ever will.

We are on approach roads to the Cygnet Hospital and over the years have literally winced seeing visitors, staff or supply vehicles racing down Kitchener and Connaught Street and without stopping swing on to Buller Street before heading over the bridge.

I suppose we will need to wait for a fatality before action is taken.

I am surprised the police haven't commented that unless a law is enforceable, it's a complete waste of time and more importantly valuable cash!
