New development is top hole!
A HOUSING firm behind a £9.5 million exclusive apartment development overlooking Whitefield Golf Club has got the complex's name down to a tee!
Stewart Milne Homes has christened the development Hickory Grange' after the material originally used to manufacture golf clubs. The new homes officially went on sale at the public launch event held at the golf club yesterday.
The traditional name complements the contemporary development which will consist of 24 large executive apartments, with underground parking, off Higher Lane.
Rachel MacCutchan, sales manager for Stewart Milne Homes' North West division, said: "The scheme has the added prestige of being beside a spectacular 18-hole parkland-style golf course.
"The golf club was established in 1932, when hickory clubs were commonly used, so we chose the name Hickory Grange to reflect that history."
The development, built on land formerly occupied by the golf club's old clubhouse and car park, was acquired from Bardsley Construction, who built a stylish new clubhouse adjacent to the site.
