Do you think it is right that the landlord of the Duke William pub in Ainsworth has been ordered to pull down a smoking shelter which had been built without planning permission?

Futcher looks up, rather than down

BEN Futcher has set a mid-table target for the rapidly improving Shakers.

The big defender has been in good form alongside Efe Sodje in recent weeks, helping Alan Knill's side keep three clean sheets in their last four games.

After Monday's victory over Mansfield, Bury are 13 points clear of the relegation issue, and though some of the teams below have games in hand, Futcher feels the side should only be looking in one direction with just over a month of the season remaining.

"We have got to be careful but I think we can start looking above us now and try and get mid-table," he said. "We're in good form. There are six games left and we want to win as many as we can, and see where that takes us."

Futcher would seem to be finishing the current campaign strongly, having fashioned a solid partnership with loan signing Sodje at the heart of the Shakers defence.

"Sometimes you just come across these things and hit it off with certain players," the defender said.

"Since I started playing with him we have taken 13 points from the last six games, so that's a great record. To be fair, it has been a real team effort. We are there to do a job and thankfully we're doing it quite well at the moment."

Saturday sees a trip to Shrewsbury, among the pre-season promotion favourites, but a side who are without a win at home in their last six attempts.

Futcher is looking forward to his first trip to the New Meadow.

"Everyone is tired at the minute but I'm sure we'll be ready to go again on Saturday at Shrewsbury," he said. "They spent a lot of money in pre-season but we are going well, so we need to carry that on."
