A female driver escaped injury when she accidentally rammed her sports car through the display window of Asda supermarket at Pilsworth.

The woman, from Heywood, was attempting to reverse her high powered Mazda vehicle from a parking spot when it shot backwards at speed and ploughed into the glass foyer of the store.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the store at 3pm today. The motorist was not injured but was left shaken.

I agree that Brian was out of order, but how on Earth do you not notice a building of that size? Is it a case of relying entirely on rear sensors and not looking in a mirror?

The story has a slight comedy value to it seeing as nobody was injured, but if she can't notice an Asda building what are the chances she would have noticed a child running behind her car? No comedy in that.

I agree forward thinker it could have been a lot worse, thankfully there were no injuries. The woman probably did see the window, she must have out her foot on the wrong pedal as the article says she 'shot' back. I was at Asda last night and it is uncanny how the car got to the window through the bollards?!

Agree totally with Brian. Who also probably agrees with me that 25% of road accidents are caused by drunken drivers. Therefore 75% of accidents are caused by sober drivers! Ban sober drivers now!!!!!

Ants mate, just wondered if you have the stats to hand: how many of the 75% sober drivers causing accidents are women?

We've only got the driver's word for it that it was an accident.

this woman she must banned from driving anyway.
no:1 she parked on disables spot
may be she was disable somewhere::)))
then she reverse and accelarate to hit that small building:::))))
Imaging if my kid was there or any other kids
Good ideal is to post her driving license to the DVLA (not drive)
That is wise thing to do her and any other simillar driver
