YOUNGSTERS from Unsworth Primary School have certainly been finding their feet - by taking part in the Walk to School Week and Golden Shoe Challenge which finishes tomorrow.
The school in Blackley Close operates a popular walking bus scheme in which adult volunteers escort children to the gates along various, designated routes.
As part of Walk to School Week, children have been trying to walk, park and walk, scoot or cycle to school. For doing that they are given a Walk to School passport and stickers.
The Challenge is a competition between schools. The one with the highest percentage of stickers during the week, will win the Golden Shoe trophy for a year.
To mark the first anniversary of their scheme, Unsworth primary schoolchildren had an outing to the Bridgewater Canal, which runs between Manchester and Runcorn.
