A BURY solicitor is urging people to come along and support his local boxing club at a fundraising event that will showcase local talent tomorrow.

Michael Shroot, of Woodcocks, has trained at Dynamics Amateur Boxing Club, in Radcliffe for the past 18 months and is helping to organise the bout at Radcliffe Civic Suite.

Woodcocks are sponsoring the event, along with several other local firms, which will bring together 20 boxers aged 11 to 20, from clubs across the North West for ten fights.

The money raised will be used to buy equipment for the club, based at Dynamics Health and Fitness Club, and to help with the costs of sending youngsters to local tournaments.

Michael, who is based at Woodcocks Bury office in Manchester Road, said events such as this were important to the survival of grass roots boxing clubs.

"The club is an important facility as it helps people of all ages to keep fit through training and provides a disciplined activity for youngsters in the area."

Doors at the Radcliffe Civic Suite open at 7pm tomorrow and entry is £10.
