POLICE raiding a house in Bolton arrested a drug dealer from Bury who pulled up outside in a taxi with cocaine in a bag.

Bolton Crown Court heard the officers were at a house in Delph Hill Close, Doffcocker, on September 7 last year when the vehicle arrived with two men in it, one of whom was 25-year-old Christopher Wolfendale.

A bag was spotted in the car and Wolfendale admitted it was his and contained cocaine, said prosecutor Jennifer Birch.

There were found to be 19 bags of the drug, weighing a total of 10 grammes and with a street value of £360.

At the time Wolfendale, of Walmersley Road, Bury, was on licence, part-way through a 40-month jail sentence for attempted robbery.

Paul Tonge, defending, said Wolfendale was short of cash and had only been dealing for a few days when he was caught.

He added that Wolfendale, the eldest of five siblings, comes from a respectable family, but he has several criminal convictions.

“He clearly has a flaw in his make-up. The defendant seems to partake in reckless and risk-taking behaviour. This case is no exception,” he said.

Recorder Craig Osborne jailed Wolfendale for four years.
