A FORMER gym owner has been fined by magistrates for allowing a schoolgirl to use a sunbed.
Stewart Hall, aged 43, of Woodhill Road, Bury, pleaded guilty to three charges under the Sunbeds (Regulation) Act 2010.
They were two counts of allowing a child under the age of 18 to use a sunbed and a count of allowing a child under the age of 18 in a restricted zone.
The case relates to a 15-year-old girl who suffered burns after twice using a sunbed at Olympic Power Mill, in Hornby Street, Bury, in May last year.
Hall owned the business at the time and sold it in December.
He appeared at Bury And Rochdale Magistrates Court this morning and was fined £500.
Hall was also ordered to pay costs of £1,500 and a £15 victim surcharge.
The case was brought by Bury Council's environmental health department.
