PREMIER League footballer Courtney Meppen-Walter has pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving following the death of a brother and sister in Cheetham Hill.
Meppen-Walter, aged 18, of Middleton Road, Blackley, pleaded guilty to the two charges when he appeared before Manchester Magistrates' Court today.
The plater, who is believed to have been born in Bury, will be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square, on February 28.
At about 10.15pm on Saturday 1 September 2012, police were called to Bury New Road at its junction with Sherborne Street following reports a silver Mercedes and a red Nissan Micra had collided.
Officers attended and the driver of the Micra, a 32-year-old man, and the front seat passenger, a 37-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.
They were later identified as Kulwant Singh, of Salford, and his sister Ravel Kaur of Cheetham Hill. In the back of the Micra were Ravel Kaur's two sons, who are 16 and 17-years-old, both are now making a good recovery.
