FIRST Bus drivers, engineers and managers have all got “on board” to recreate an online dance craze in a hilarious five-minute video in aid of disabled Bury boy Joshua Wilson.

The madcap (Harlem) Shake for Joshua production, painstakingly put together by Bury bus driver and amateur film maker Tino Festa, has already received more than 2,000 hits after being posted on YouTube.

The aim is to help generate donations to the newly-launched Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour charity.

In the video, baffled bus driver Tino encounters colleagues and passengers, all of whom suddenly perform dance routines to the catchy Harlem Shake tune.

Although some outside locations were used, much of the video was shot inside Tino’s own studios at his Brocklehurst Avenue home.

Many of those who took part — including Josh and his parents, Dawn and Colin — were filmed in the studio then superimposed against some Bury landmarks projected onto a cloth behind them.

Tino said: “My garage serves as my studio and I used my green screen, lights and camcorder to film the video.

I’ve been an amateur film maker for several years now but only a couple of my films are in the public domain.”

He was approached by his employers, First, and asked to make a video for Joshua, following the success of Gangham Style-themed films produced by Devon & Cornwall Police and their Greater Manchester counterparts.

And colleagues at First’s depot, in Rochdale Road, rallied round to help out.

“I’d say around 30 people took part,” added Tino. “They came individually to my studios to be filmed and were then superimposed with the others. It took nearly three months to complete the video — working six days a week.

“Everybody had a great laugh making it and put a lot of time and effort into it.

“It had a zero budget and didn’t cost anything to make because I had the equipment already. The song used in the video was remixed.”

The crazy and funny (Harlem) Shake for Joshua video, has already won plaudits on social networking sites such as Twitter.

First and the union Unite have also made donations to the Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour charity which will help and support other youngsters suffering from a similar condition to Josh — who celebrated his 13th birthday with a party in Heaton Park at the weekend.

His mum, Dawn, said: “We all think that the video is hilarious. Tino is so clever to have made this from just his studio garage at home.

“Each person was filmed individually and then he has worked his magic using the green screen to add the scenes and put us all on the bus. We have really enjoyed taking part and Josh gives a big thumbs up to the video — he loves it “We would like to say thank you to Tino and to everyone who has been involved for such a brilliant video and helping us raise more funds and awareness for Josh’s new charity. Thanks also to First Bus and the union for their generous donations.

“We hope this will raise lots more so Josh can start to help other children with brain tumours and disabilities.”
