4:16pm Friday 16th August 2013 in News
A 29-year-old man has been banned from driving for three years after riding a moped while almost twice over the alcohol limit.
Michael Flynn, of Deal Street, Bury, was caught riding a Peugeot 100cc moped while over the limit in Manchester Road, Bury, on July 27. He had 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath and the legal limit is 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres.
At a hearing on Friday, Flynn admitted the charge and also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and without insurance.
He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £85 court costs as well as a £20 victim surcharge.
