Power cut means no water
10:13am Thursday 29th August 2013 in News
HOMES on Watling Street in Bury were left without water for several hours yesterday after a power cut caused a water pump to stop working.
An electricity outage yesterday morning caused one of the pumps on the water mains network to fail.
The problem was fixed in less than three hours and water was flowing normally again by 11.30am.
A spokeswoman for United Utilities said: “Apologies to customers who had no water – we are sorry if this has affected you and thank you for your patience.
“Our engineers were on the case and worked hard to get the problem sorted as quickly as we could.”
Households on Watling Street were warned water could be slightly discoloured due to the disturbance to the pipes.
