Carer crowned Bury woman of the year
A DEDICATED carer who has volunteered in schools, care homes and hospitals for more than four decades was yesterday (Thursday Oct 10) crowned Bury Woman of the Year.
Edwina Rosenberg, from Prestwich, said she was thrilled to have won at the official prize-giving ceremony run by Bury Hospice at the Bolholt Hotel in Walshaw.
The 68-year-old, who first volunteered at the age of 14, regularly entertains the residents of old people’s homes across the borough in fancy dress.
She received the prize for the carer category as well as being crowned the overall winner.
Agnes Czernek, from Whitefield, took home the trophy for the volunteer category, and winner of the businesswoman category was Mo Kelly.
