A Bury band is calling on the support of their home town in an attempt to win the chance to play at a prestigious music festival.
Rock group Angels or Kings are competing in an unsigned bands competition for the opportunity to open the Firefest festival in Nottingham.
The band, which was originally formed in 1988, have already made it through to the final, and will now compete against two other bands for the slot.
Fans are asked to visit the competition website and cast their vote, with the band gaining the most support winning chance to perform at the festival, which takes place in October 2014.
The deadline for votes is Sunday December 1.
Guitarist Tony Bell said: "If our home town could get behind us, then who knows, we could win this".
“"It would mean a lot to get this chance. If just a few people would take a few seconds to vote then that would be great.”
