A MAN has been charged with assault after an attack in which a 54-year-old was allegedly blinded in one eye when he had his eyeball punctured.
Adam Whitehead, aged 23, of Rydal Close, Bury, has been charged with assault in connection with an attack, which is said to have happened in Whitefield on November 22.
Whitehead is due before Bury Magistrates Court today.
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
They said incident was seen by a woman who was with her young daughter and police are appealing for her to contact them.
The incident is said to have happened at about 1pm outside The Ironing Shop next to the new Morrisons petrol station in Bury New Road.
