TWO siblings showed more than a slice of talent to win this year’s Christmas card competition and earn pizzas for their schoolfriends.
Harry and Katie Brown, who both attend Christ Church Primary School in Ainsworth, wowed the judging panel and readers of the Bury Times and Radcliffe Times with their festive creations.
Harry, aged seven, won in the four to seven category with his “O Holy Night” creation, while Katie, aged nine, won in the eight to 11 category with her card “Let it Snow”.
Harry and Katie will now see their designs professionally printed by Impression in Bolton, and received £25-worth of vouchers for Smyths toys.
They also won pizzas for their classmates and teacher from Domino’s in Bury.
At the prizegiving present-ation, Harry said: “I’m really happy, it was great that I won.
“When I first heard about this competition I thought there was a chance I could win, so I tried my best and worked hard.
“I’m delighted for Katie to win because she worked as hard as me and deserved it.
“I can’t wait to have the pizza — I’m really looking forward to it!”
Katie added: “I’m really, really happy. I thought that maybe, if I made a snow card, it might snow this Christmas.”
Mum Jenny said: “I’m very proud of them. They both worked so hard and put in a lot of time and effort.”
Runner-up in the four to seven category was Georgia Lowe, aged six, who received a £15 voucher for Smyths Toys.
Runner-up in the eight to 11 category was Robyn Fielding, aged nine, who won a Domino’s Pizza voucher for her class and teacher.
The other runners-up in both categories were Lucy Lindsay, aged six, and Madaleine McPhail, aged nine.
Both won Christmas-themed chocolate from Slattery’s in Whitefield.
