AN criminal who was caught urinating in the grounds of a church in Bury while carrying out unpaid work has been hauled back before the courts.

Nathan Price, aged 22, was seen urinating at Christ Church, in Walmersley Road, while undertaking the community work as part of a sentence for a crime committed on November 10, 2012.

He was sent home for “unacceptable behaviour” following the breach on January 5 this year.

Bolton Crown Court heard Price, of Hall Lane, Farnworth, had been sentenced to a six-month jail term suspended for 18 months along with 175 hours of unpaid work for stealing copper worth just under £5,000 during a burglary.

The father-of-two admitted the breach of the suspended sentence and also committing another offence of stealing scrap metal worth about £100.

He was ordered to carry out an additional 30 hours of unpaid work, and sentenced to two months imprisonment suspended for 12 months to run concurrently with his other suspended sentence.

Price was also told to comply with an 8pm and 6am curfew.
