GOOD news is in store for residents left frustrated after repair works to potholes stopped short at the end of their road.

Potholes in Inman Street, Bury, were repaired by the council earlier this year but the road adjoining Waterloo Court, which is also in a poor condition, was left untouched.

Christine Arrowsmith, who has lived in Waterloo Court for two-and-a-half years, said the holes in her cul-de-sac also needed fixing.

She said: “The roadworks department did a brilliant job, but they only repaired Inman Street — stopping dead at the end of the street and totally ignoring additional potholes less than one metre from their end point.

“Many of the residents have frequent visitors — meals delivered, visits from carers, delivery services for prescriptions, ambulances, food, taxis plus friends and relatives who visit.”

A council spokesman said works were due to be carried out to Waterloo Court this month or in March.

He added: “We are proposing to repair Waterloo Court using spray injection patching — a different repair method to the works already carried out in Inman Street.

“This will be carried out by a specialist external contractor.”
