IT was a “red” letter day for disabled Bury youngster Joshua Wilson when he helped lead his favourite rugby league team out on to the pitch for the start of a televised match.
The 13-year-old, of Walshaw Road, was the Salford Red Devils’ mascot when they played St Helens at their AJ Bell Stadium in a Super League clash last Thursday.
He was accompanied by his mum, Dawn Fidler, and Salford skipper Adrian Morley who is also patron of the Joshua Wilson brain tumour charity.
A total of £400 was collected on the night for Joshua’s charity by a fundraising team, led by trustee Naomi Turner.
Dawn Fidler said: “It was an amazing night. Josh was so proud to lead his favourite rugby league team out on to the pitch. Thank you to everyone.”
