YOUNGSTERS have the chance to win a “purr-fect” prize for themselves and their family by entering a competition to find a name for East Lancashire Railway’s (ELR) new Kids’ Club mascot — a station cat.

The heritage railway has launched the club to educate and excite young visitors about the railway, its locomotives and history.

To celebrate the new venture, the railway will be hosting a Kids’ Club launch event on March 29 and 30.

Children can travel free for the whole weekend, receive a free goody bag and meet the new station cat mascot.

ELR wants the help of youngsters to name the new mascot.

You could be in with a chance of winning a family ticket for one of their Day Out with Thomas events in 2014.

The ticket is valid for two adults and up to three children and can be used either on May 3 to 5, August 2 to 3 and October 4 to 5.

To enter by email, send an email to marketing.assistant@east-lancs-rly.co.uk stating the name of the mascot, the name of your child and their age and a contact name and telephone number.

To enter by post, send a stamped addressed envelope to Marketing Assistant, East Lancashire Rail-way, Bolton Street Station, Bolton Street, Bury, BL9 0EY. Please include the name of mascot, name of child, age of child, contact name and contact number.

n—Competition closes Monday, March 24.

The prize cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash. Please note entrants may be contacted by the East Lancashire Railway in the future.

The winner may be printed in a future issue of the Bury Times. ELR terms and conditions apply.
