AN 11-year-old boy had to be rescued by firefighters after he got stuck in mud.
Firefighters from Bury station used manpower and a bucket and spade to dig the boy out of the sludge in woodland off Tottington Road.
He became stuck for more than an hour after a game with a friend went wrong.
Crew manager Karl Grindrod said the boy was later taken to hospital with suspected hypothermia, as he had been exposed to the rain and cold.
