DANCE band Soul II Soul have been announced as the final headline act for this year’s Ramsbottom Festival.

The group, which is famed for their 1989 Number One hit ‘Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)’, will close the festival at Ramsbottom Cricket Club on Sunday, September 21.

Led by DJ Jazzie B, the group is currently celebrating its 25th year in the industry and to date has sold over 10 million albums worldwide.

Soul II Soul join headline acts The Levellers, who will perform on Friday, September 19, and British Sea Power, who play on Saturday, September 20.

Other newly announced acts at the festival include Bury and Bolton based electro band Berlin Berlin, Bury folk group Thugs on Wolves and Manchester based indie four-piece The Tapestry.

The festival will also feature a new stage, the Chameleon Stage, which will showcase up and coming talent, with vocalist and instrumentalist Rum Thief, acoustic folk singer-songwriter Matt Hamer and five-piece band Second Hand Wings performing on Sunday.
