ONE year after she was crowned Miss Bury, a teenager could be become Miss International after competing in a prestigious pageant this weekend.

On Sunday, 19-year-old Aisha Sewell will compete as Miss Greater Manchester International 2014 at the Miss International UK grand final in Manchester.

Aisha, of Rowan Drive, Bury, could also be in with a chance of being named Miss Intercontinental England 2014 in the contest.

The teenager, who last year made it to the Miss England semi-finals as Miss Bury, studied at Holy Cross College and hopes to read counselling and psychotherapy at university this September.

Aisha said: “I hope to inspire and empower young women to embrace themselves regardless of how they look or what their interests are, and show them being unique is what beauty really is.”

If Aisha wins Miss International UK, she will win a trip to Japan to compete in the Miss International world final.
