THE World Cup may be over, but shoppers in Bury were transported to Brazil with the sights, sounds and smells of a Rio-style carnival.
The Rock hosted the extravaganza, which featured a parade with samba band, stilt walkers and carnival dancers.
Dancers from Active Dance, a performance school which has studios in Bolholt Industrial Park in Elton and Turks Road in Radcliffe, also wowed the crowds.
Arnold Wilcox-Wood, centre director of The Rock, said: “The rain and wind did not dampen the spirits of the Bloco Ashe samba band nor the vigorous dance routine performance from Active Dance.”
