WATER supply bosses are holding a public meeting about a road closure.

United Utilities is preparing to do sewer repair work in Croft Lane, Bury and is inviting those affected to find out more about it.

The meeting takes place at Hollins Social Club in Brook Lane on August 14.

Guests can arrive at any time between 3.30pm and 6.30pm.

A United Utilities spokesman said: “The phase of work on Croft Lane will start in October and take four months.

“Sadly, carrying out this type of work requires a lot of digging and heavy machinery.

“It’s for this reason we would like to meet you so we can explain more detail we need to do.”

Virgin Media recently finished work in Croft Lane and it is now open.

Electricity North West was due to do work around now but agreed to hold off until October to minimise traffic disruption.
