A TEENAGER was brutally kicked in the head in a "violent and unprovoked" robbery in Radcliffe.

The 17-year-old victim was walking on Banana Walk away from Radcliffe Metrolink at 5pm on Saturday when he was hit from behind and fell to the ground.

He was then kicked in the head four times and heard a man say “give us your phone” before he was kicked in the head again.

His attackers then fled, taking his white iPhone 4.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the attack.

The teenager’s attackers are described as Asian, between 18 and 20 years old, about 6ft tall and skinny.

PC Mark Robertson said: "This was a violent and unprovoked attack and the victim is understandably extremely shaken by what happened.

"Innocent members of the public should be able to use the local bridleway without fear of being the victim of a crime.

"We are urging anybody who may have any information or may have seen the two offenders to contact us."
