A FIESTA of fashion, food and fitness saw shoppers in Bury treated to shows, workshops and demonstrations.

On Saturday, The Rock teamed up with the ‘I Will If You Will’ campaign to host a showcase encouraging people to eat healthily and get fit.

The event featured healthy cooking demonstrations from Pum Thai and Pizza Express, Zumba workshops and fashion shows.

There were also performances from children from Active Dance performance school and an appearance from The Roc Boyz street dance crew.

After a full schedule of summer events on The Rock, the shopping centre’s bosses are calling on the public to nominate heroes from the borough who are in need of a special treat.

Four winners and their guests will be invited on a free night out with a yoga class at Fit For Free, bowling at AMF and food at one of The Rock’s restaurants before a film at Vue.

The initiative is part of The Rock’s ‘Treat Yourself Tuesdays’ offering two for one meals, free fitness classes, bowling deals and prizes every Tuesday, running from September 16 and October 21. A launch event on September 16 between 5pm and 7pm will feature pizza, cocktail and spring roll workshops, fire dancers and Active Dance performances.

Linzi Atkinson, marketing and tenant liaison manager at The Rock, said: “We all know someone who deserves a treat, whether it’s the kind neighbour who watches the kids when you’re at a loss, a family member who’s a bit under the weather, or your workaholic best friend who needs a night off.”
