RAMSBOTTOM Horticultural Society enjoyed the sweet smell of success when it staged its summer show at the town’s cricket club.
A total of 33 participants showed a total of 239 exhibits, and the show was well attended by growers from the area.
Organisers said the dahlia and gladioli sections were particularly well represented.
The event also welcomed the Mayor of Bury, Cllr Michelle Wiseman, and her mayoress daughter, Danielle, who were greeted by the society’s president, Tony Bracegirdle.
The society, run by local people and officials, thanked businesses for their support and donations towards the show, and its next event will be held on October 5.
